Die originalen Schriften kennen das Wort Hölle nicht. Das ist nur ein Begriff, der über andere Wörter übergestülpt wurde und diese sind:

Sheol, Gehenna, Hades, Tartarus/Feuersee.

Sheol = Scheol (hebräisch שְׁאוֹל Šəʾōl) kommt im Tanach 66 Mal vor und ist ein Ort der Finsternis, der vom Leben abgeschnitten ist. Dorthin gehen alle Toten, sowohl die Gerechten als auch die Ungerechten.  Von Sheol leitet sich das Wort sha’al ab, was verlangen, fordern bedeutet.

Gehenna = Dieses Wort ist die griechische Bezeichnung von Ge-Hinnom. Das Ge-Hinnom ist ein Gebiet der Schlucht, dort befindet sich die Grenze zwischen den Stämmen Juda und Benjamin. Erstmals wird Ge-Hinnom im Buch Josua erwähnt und als tiefe, schmale Schlucht am Fuße der Mauern von Jerusalem beschrieben. Die Schlucht liegt im Süden der Jerusalemer Altstadt. Sie reicht vom Fuß des Berges Zion in östlicher Richtung bis zum Kidrontal. Zur Königszeit wurden in Ge-Hinnom sowie in Tofet dem Moloch Kinderopfer dargebracht. Der Prophet Jeremia verurteilte mehrmals diesen Kult und sagte voraus, dass aus diesem Grund Tofet und Ge-Hinnom „Mordtal“ genannt würden. In diesem Tal wurden Abtrünnige hineingeworfen und ihre Körper wurden nicht begraben. (Wikipedia)

Hades = Der griechische Begriff für die Unterwelt. Dort werden alle Toten verwahrt. Es gibt Überleitungen zur Sheol.

Tartarus/Feuersee = Laut der platonischen Seelenlehre gelangen die Verstorbenen, nach der Überquerung des Totenflusses vor die Richter Minos, Rhadamanthys und Aiakos. Sie betrachten die Seelen der Toten. Sollte eine ungerechte oder meineidige Seele erkannt werden, gelange diese in den Tartaros. Jene, die heilbare Verbrechen begangen hatten, wurden dort gereinigt, während Unheilbare ewig verdammt seien und so ein warnendes Beispiel für die Lebenden darstellten (Wikipedia). Die Bibel beschreibt den Tartarus als Feuesee.

Allerdings ist die Lehre hier anders. Der Feuersee wird nur in der Offenbarung erwähnt. Dort wird das Tier und der falsche Prophet hineingeworfen, der in seinem Namen falsche Wunder getan hat. (Neue Leben Bibel Offenbarung 19,20). Auch der Teufel, der das Tier und den Propheten betrogen hatte, landet im Feuersee (Neue Leben Bibel Offenbarung 20,10). Ferner werden noch der Tod und das Totenreich in den Feuersee geworfen (Neue Leben Bibel Offenbarung 20,14) und alle, deren Namen nicht im Buch des Lebens geschrieben standen (Neue Leben Bibel Offenbarung 20,15). In der Bibel steht nirgends geschrieben, wer in dem Buch des Lebens steht. Es werden auch keine Voraussetzungen wie Glaube oder Werke genannt.

The Heaven and Hell teaching is a false teaching

The original texts don’t know the word hell. It is just a term superimposed over other words and these are:

Sheol, Gehenna, Hades, Tartarus/Lake of Fire.

Sheol = Sheol (Hebrew שְׁאוֹל Šəʾōl) is found 66 times in the Tanach and is a place of darkness cut off from life. There all the dead go, both the righteous and the unrighteous. From Sheol is based the word sha’al, which means to demand, to require.

Gehenna = This word is the Greek term of Ge-Hinnom. Ge-Hinnom is an area of the canyon, the border between the tribes of Judah and Benjamin is located there. First mentioned in the Book of Joshua. Ge-Hinnom is described as a deep, narrow ravine at the foot of the walls of Jerusalem. The canyon is located to the south of the Jerusalem Old City. It extends from the foot of Mount Zion in an easterly direction to the Kidron Valley. In royal times, child sacrifices were made to Moloch in Ge-Hinnom as well as in Tofet. The prophet Jeremiah condemned this cult several times and predicted that for this reason Tofet and Ge-Hinnom would be called the “Valley of Murder.” In this valley, apostates were thrown in and their bodies were not buried. Hades = The Greek term for the underworld. It is where all the dead are placed. There are transitions to Sheol.

Tartarus/Lake of Fire = According to the Platonic doctrine of souls, the deceased, after crossing the river of the dead, come in front of the judges Minos, Rhadamanthys and Aiakos. They look at the souls of the dead. If an unjust or perjured soul is recognized, it goes to Tartarus. Those who had committed healable crimes were purified there, while the unhealable were eternally damned, thus providing a warning example for the living (Wikipedia).

The Bible describes Tartarus as a lake of fire. However, the teaching here is different. The lake of fire is mentioned only in the Book of Revelation. The beast and the false prophet who did fake miracles in his name are thrown into it there. (New Life Bible Revelation 19:20). Also the devil, who had deceived the beast and the prophet, ends up in the lake of fire (New Life Bible Revelation 20:10). Furthermore, still the death and the realm of the dead are thrown into the lake of fire (New Life Bible Revelation 20:14) and all, whose names weren’t written in the book of life (New Life Bible Revelation 20:15). Nowhere in the Bible is it written who is in the book of life. There are also no qualifications mentioned, such as faith or deeds.
